Sounds of Prohibition

Join us on Thursday, September 24, for a virtual exploration of the music performed around the state and on the Gold Coast during the days of Prohibition with host and blues historian Scott Barretta. Musicians Jesse Robinson, Nellie Mack, Willie Silas, and Sherill Holly will each share their stories about the Prohibition era with Barretta. The program will live stream from the Museum of Mississippi History's Facebook page.

This program is in conjunction with the Mississippi Distilled: Prohibition, Piety, and Politics exhibit at the Two Mississippi Museums and was made possible by a grant from the Mississippi Humanities Council, through support from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
