A Green Space in Downtown Jackson
Design is underway for Margaret Ann Crigler Park, a large public green space that will be adjacent to the Two Mississippi Museums. The park will include an outdoor bandshell, a treehouse-inspired play area for children, and native Mississippi foliage.
The park will serve as a new anchor for Jackson’s Museum Trail, a walking and biking trail that connects the museums at LeFleur’s Bluff to the museums downtown. The plan also represents a return to the city’s original 1822 design, which included green spaces on alternating blocks.
This project not only links the Two Mississippi Museums to downtown but also expands the museums' capacity for public programming that contributes to a vibrant arts and culture landscape in the community.
