The Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH) recently welcomed Andrea Scott of Ackerman as the 2025 Family Genealogy Fellow. The Family Genealogy Fellowship supports researchers in locating information about their Mississippi-based families using MDAH’s resources.

Veterans Day Ceremony
November 7, 2025, 10:30 am - 11:00 am

The 2025 Veterans Day Ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 7, on the Entergy Plaza in front of the Two Mississippi Museums. The program will include a performance by the 41st Army Band, a moment of silence, recognition of the veterans in attendance and of fallen heroes by the Adjutant General of the Mississippi National Guard.

Free Sundays at the Two Mississippi Museums
November 9, 2025, 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

Admission to the Two Mississippi Museums is free every Sunday. This includes admission to the Hurricane Katrina: Mississippi Remembers, Photographs by Melody Golding on display through November 7. HORNE, a Ridgeland-based professional services firm, is the title sponsor of the exhibit.

Welty Wednesdays
November 12, 2025, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

Join the Eudora Welty House & Garden (EWHG) for Welty Wednesdays beginning Wednesday, January 8. In honor of 1119 Pinehurst Street's 100-year anniversary, free admission will be offered every Wednesday, in addition to the long-standing tradition of free admission on the 13th of each month honoring Welty’s April 13 birthday.
