Wikipedia Edit-a-thon: Writing Mississippi Women Into History Registration

Kelly Doyle, the Open Knowledge Coordinator for the Smithsonian American Women's History Initiative, will lead an introduction to Wikipedia editing for interested members of the public at the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium of the Two Mississippi Museums at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 23. Participants will have opportunities for creating editing credentials and drafting and editing content on Wikipedia. MDAH will provide a list of Mississippi women whose roles in history are under-represented on Wikipedia and in historical writing. Participants should feel welcome to bring their own ideas for women to write into history. Bring a laptop or similar device for writing and editing.

This program is free and open to the public. Space is limited. For more information, contact 601-576-6850 or email info@mdah.ms.gov.
