Join us for the Possum Ridge Paint a Train workshop at 2 p.m. Friday, December 13, at the Two Mississippi Museums. This family-friendly event will allow for visitors to assemble and paint a model train after a brief tour of the Possum Ridge model train exhibit on display through December 31. The program will take place in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium of the Museum of Mississippi History and Mississippi Civil Rights Museum building and stream live on the MDAH Facebook page and YouTube channel.
The Mississippi Department of Archives and History will be among those participating in this year's Metro Jackson Heart Walk. The American Heart Association will host walkers and volunteers at the event set for 8 a.m. on Saturday, November 16 at the Two Mississippi Museums, located at 222 North Street in Jackson. Join us for a screening of gOD-Talk Sunday, November 17, at 2 p.m. in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium of the Two Mississippi Museums. Directed by Kim Moir, the one hour and forty-eight minute film explores the lives of seven Black Millennials and explores how intersectionality of faith, race, and environment play a role in spirituality in the modern day. Following the film, there will be a Q&A with producer Teddy Reeves, Kim Moir, and Okolo Rasheed, co-founder and president emerita of the International Museum of Muslim Cultures.
