The William F. Winter Archives and History Building is headquarters to the Mississippi Department of Archives and History and home to the MDAH Archives and Records Services Division. Lobby hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The Department of Archives and History is closed on official state holidays and at the discretion of the director.
Directions: The Winter Building is located at 200 North Street, Jackson, MS 39201. Take the High Street exit (96B) off I-55. Take High Street west, then turn left onto North Street. The Winter Building is on the corner of North and Amite Streets. The reading rooms of the state archives are on the first floor.
Parking for the state archives is available in the parking garage at the Museum of Mississippi History and Mississippi Civil Rights Museum that is accessed from Jefferson Street between Amite and Mississippi Street. An accessible parking lot is also located off North Street, between the William F. Winter Archives and History Building and the Two Mississippi Museums.
