The Frank E. Everett, Jr. Award will be awarded as merited to the historical society that has made outstanding contributions to the preservation and interpretation of local history.

The Frank E. Everett, Jr. Award was established by the Mississippi Historical Society to memorialize Everett, who was the first president of the society following its reorganization in 1953. Everett was instrumental in establishing the Vicksburg and Warren County Historical Society and in helping preserve the Old Warren County Courthouse and also served for many years as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History.


Nominations may be submitted electronically using the Everett Award online form, or by mail using the printable Everett Award form (PDF). All application materials must be completed online or postmarked by regular mail on or before December 1 to:
