Summer Music Series: Jessie Primer III

Join us for the final edition of our Summer Music Series program on Sunday, July 11, at 1 p.m., featuring the smooth jazz sounds of saxophonist Jessie Primer III. Admission to the Museum of Mississippi History and Mississippi Civil Rights Museum is free every Sunday. Face masks and social distancing guidelines are required.

Jessie Primer III is a jazz musician, bandleader, and longtime music educator. He is the director of the Jessie Primer Jazz Quintet, Just Right, the Jessie Primer Big Band, and the Jessie Primer Rhythm and Blues Band. An award-winning saxophonist, Primer has performed with several noteworthy musicians such as B.B. King, Cassandra Wilson, and the Williams Brothers and has performed internationally. He currently serves as the chairperson of the Visual and Performing Arts Department and director of the Instrumental Ensemble at Tougaloo College.
