Join the Eudora Welty House & Garden (EWHG) for Welty Wednesdays beginning Wednesday, January 8.
History Is Lunch: Emma To, Jennifer Le, Tim Isbell, and Carol Andersen, "A Legacy of Refuge and Resilience: Mississippi's Gulf Coast Vietnamese"
At noon Wednesday, September 10, co-founders of Gulf Coast Vietnamese Narratives (GCVN), Emma To and Jennifer Le, will be joined by award-winning photographer Tim Isbell, and Carol Andersen, assistant director of the Mississippi Humanities Council, to explore the Vietnamese community’s rich history and contributions along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, particularly in the seafood industry. This program will take place in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium of the Two Mississippi Museums and will also stream live on the MDAH Facebook page and YouTube channel. Twining Workshop
Join us at the Grand Village of the Natchez Indians on Thursday, September 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. where Amy Bluemel of the Chickasaw Nation will teach the fine art of twining, a decorative stitch used in handweaving. Participants will make a small bag during the demo. All materials and light refreshments will be provided.
