Friday, November 1, 8 a.m.–3:30 p.m. at the Museum of Mississippi History and Mississippi Civil Rights Museum in Jackson. MDAH will host the 34th Social Studies Teachers Workshop. Concurrent sessions will be held throughout the day. Highlights include a presentation from staff of George Washington’s Mount Vernon, and a tour of Jackson’s significant sites in the Civil Rights Movement led by Robby Luckett, director of the Margaret Walker Center at Jackson State University.

The cost is $60 in advance and $80 the day of. The first 100 applicants will receive a $30 scholarship funded by George Washington’s Mount Vernon to go towards their registration fee.
