Bettye Jolly Lecture: Richard Ford

Join us for the ninth annual Bettye Jolly Lecture Series featuring Richard Ford, acclaimed novelist and short story author, at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, on the lawn of the Eudora Welty House & Garden. A book signing and reception will follow the lecture. Yoga in the Welty Garden

Bring your mats for free, weekly, adult yoga on Tuesdays, April 28 through May 26, from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Certified yoga instructor Maya Morris will lead these classes, beginning with an intention based on a quote from Eudora Welty's writing.

Welty Wednesdays

Join the Eudora Welty House & Garden (EWHG) for Welty Wednesdays beginning Wednesday, January 8. In honor of 1119 Pinehurst Street's 100-year anniversary, free admission will be offered every Wednesday, in addition to the long-standing tradition of free admission on the 13th of each month honoring Welty’s April 13 birthday.

History Is Lunch: Josh Foreman and Ryan Starrett, "John Blommart and the American Revolution in Natchez"

At noon on Wednesday, May 13, Josh Foreman, journalism professor at Mississippi State University, and Ryan Starrett, teacher at St. Joseph Catholic School, will explore the rise and fall of John Blommart during the American Revolution as part of the History Is Lunch series. John Blommart, a Royal Navy captain, led a failed rebellion against Spanish rule at Mount Locust in Natchez.
